Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 resmi diumumkan Qualcomm. Sejumlah peningkatan diberikan, bikin HP Android makin gahar sehingga dapat saingi performa iPhone 13.
Snapdragon 8+ menjanjikan kecepatan hingga 10% lebih cepat. Sebab inti Cortex-X2 utama sekarang memiliki clock 3.2GHz dibandingkan dengan 3GHz di Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Chipset baru ini membawa peningkatan efesiensi daya 30% di CPU karena menggunakan teknologi proses 4nm oleh TSMC dibandingkan pendahulunya yang dibuat Samsung.
Qualcomm menjanjikan kinerja GPU 10% lebih cepat. Perusahaan mengatakan bahwa pengguna dapat mendapatkan gameplay tambahan hingga 60 menit lantaran pengurangan daya GPU 30%. Secara keseluruhan, chip baru ini menjanjikan penghematan daya 15% di SoC.
Qualcomm AI Engine Generasi ke-7 disematkan pada SoC terbaru ini, menjanjikan kinerja hingga 20% lebih baik per Watt untuk memungkinkan penggunaan AI untuk interaksi yang intuitif dan menantang seperti efek bokeh Leica Leitz yang legendaris.
Soal koneksi, produsen chip asal San Diego ini masih mempertahankan Sistem Modem-RF Snapdragon X65 5G, sistem Konektivitas seluler Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 untuk kecepatan Wi-Fi hingga 3,6 Gbps, melalui Wi-Fi 6 dan 6E.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 akan hadir di ponsel flagship besutan brand terkemuka, seperti Asus ROG, Black Shark, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, OSOM, Realme, RedMagic, Redmi, Vivo, Xiaomi, dan ZTE. Perangkat tersebut bakal dirilis mulai Q3 2022.
