RDS (Room Data Sheets) are used to document the information and requirements of every space within a project. They are typically prepared by the client at the briefing phase (also called architectural programing in the US) of the design process. They could be revised throughout the design to reflect changes or provide an easier understanding to those who are responsible for delivering a project.
The Room Data Sheets SmartTool is an accurate and reliable sheet that lets you view and schedule your building tool for building room (or space) sheets of data in a Revit project. The tool can create 3D plans elevations, plans, and schedule views of spaces or rooms.
The tool will default to the Room Numbering Template and Sheet Format that are defined by the Revit Project. However, you can select a different sheet style and name from the Tool Options tab. Alternatively, click ‘Load Configuration …’ on the toolbar to load previously saved configurations that will replace the current settings. This reduces the amount that manual work is required for various rooms and types.
In the ‘Naming:’ tab the user can choose whether to include the room or space name in the sheet’s ‘Sheet Name’ text box which is displayed on the left side of the screen. The ‘View Title: option determines what text appears in the title https://www.searchstreams.info bar for each view. ‘View Increment’ specifies how many increments are there between each view on the sheet. The option ‘Spacing’ allows you to control the spacing between each view. The ‘Exclude Titles from Estimating View Sizes for Sheets’ choice will stop titles from being included in the calculation of the number of views on sheets.
